Courvoisier
Courvoisier is one of the most historic and famous cognac brands, originating over 200 years ago and known to have been the cognac of Napoleon and European Royalty.
Today, the hand-crafted traditions are still practised, the same as in the beginning, from grape to glass, including only select growers, micro distillation, hand selection of oak and blending by taste not formula.
- Chosen by Napoleon as the supplier to the Imperial Court, granted the title of official supplier in 1869. Also recognised as the best cognac available by receiving the special appointment as purveyor to the Royal courts of England, Denmark and Sweden.
- Instead of using grapes from the six designated districts or “crus” Courvoisier insists on using only the grapes from the 4 finest Crus
- Courvoisier only uses barrels that are nothing less than perfect in which to age their fine cognacs. The Master Blender is entrusted to hand-select the 200 year old oak trees from which each is made.
- Courvoisier is the only cognac to receive France’s highest award for excellence – Prestige de la France, in recognition for its outstanding quality
- Named one of 50 coolest brands by The Brand Council, 2003
- Courvoisier won numerous industry awards, including several Double Gold Medals at 2005 San Francisco International Wine Competition
Courvoisier VS
V.S is a fabulous blend of cognacs between 4 to 7 years old from the Petite Champagne and Fin Bois regions. As with all Courvoisier varietals, V.S is aged longer than VS competitive products resulting in a cognac with more depth and character.
The merging of young and older cognacs gives Courvoisier VS a fruity, delicate taste with a bouquet suffused with ripe fruit and spring flowers. The aroma is rich, fresh and oaky, balanced with the vigor of a young cognac. The finish is very intense and balanced as beautifully as the aroma.
Courvoisier VSOP
Our VSOP comes from the two premium finest growth areas; Grand Champagne and Petite Champagne. This means it is one of the few VSOP’s to carry the “Fine Champagne” designation. The floral assemblage comes from cognac aged 6 to 10 years offering a delicate bouquet and balance of oak and exotic flavours. The aroma is subtle and harmonious, with undertones of vanilla and grilled almonds, and the finish is a rewarding depth of exotic spices, floral notes and light oak.
XO
Courvoisier® Cognac XO is created with a very old blend of cognacs from three regions; Grand Champagne and Borderies. This unique direction results in a richer-heavier product with more intensity. All the cognacs in this blend are aged between 20 and 35 years, so the nose is intensely aromatic and flavourful with hints of orange, apricot and pear. It is very rich and complex with aromas of chocolate, vanilla and amber, and the Borderies add exotic and bakery spices. The finish is very long and mellow with great depth and long development.
